The Diablo Day Camp Staff is 100% volunteer! This
includes the DDC Administrator, DDC Committee Members, DDC summer day camp
Directors and you are all volunteers. Children of those adults
volunteering to work a full week at any Diablo Day Camp session will be
guaranteed a spot in the same session their adult volunteer works. Family members attend camp the
same week (same session) unless otherwise requested. Volunteers do not
work directly with their own children.
Adult Volunteers must commit to working all five days of
camp. Job sharing is not allowed. Volunteers must attend training.
If you volunteer to work camp and are not able to fulfill your training
commitment, your child will NOT attend camp.
If you are interested in volunteering at camp this summer:
The Girl Scouts of Northern California must have the following items
before camp begins:
- Adult Screening Application and 3 references must be on file
before an adult can work with children at a Girl Scout camp.
This requirement must be fulfilled before camp begins.
- Girl Scouts of Northern California Acknowledgement.
- If you will also be transporting children to and from a
Girl Scout Camp, the Girl Scouts of Northern California must have a copy of your auto insurance policy and
a copy of your drivers' license on file.
In addition to the requirements above:
- Complete and sign the adult volunteer section of the
Diablo Day Camp registration form. REGISTER BY THE DEADLINE!!
- Complete Tag/Boy section of the Diablo Day Camp application for siblings. They
have a full camp program too! Tags are pre-school age boys and girls.
Tags must be potty trained. Boys currently enrolled in elementary school
(Kindergarten through 5th grade) are welcome to attend camp with their volunteer parent.
Boys currently in six grade or above are too old to attend camp. Please
make other arrangements for these children.
- Complete Adult Volunteer training. Training is required to provide a safe environment and a
quality experience for each child and adult at camp. Team work is
critical for a safe and pleasant experience and begins with meeting your
fellow volunteers at training. You must register for camp and receive
confirmation of which session you are working in order to attend training.
No children allowed at training. Please do NOT call the Council office to
register for camp training days.
- New adult volunteers must attend all modules.
Third year volunteers must attend modules III and IV (modules A and IV for
Little Hills). Contact your session director for information about
alternative training.
All of the above mentioned forms are available to download
from the Forms Page.
